The Least Important Journal Entry

Mon Jan 19, 2009, 3:39 AM
Actually, it's just meant to replace that old one, which is outdated for over 3 years now.

Unfortunately, I can't think of anything interesting to write... well, yesterday I submitted the first piece for about a year (not 3 as stated in the description, but almost!).

Music school is eating up most of the time (not that this is bad ;) ), so all I was able to produce were some small sketches. But I'm starting to miss the visual portion of art...

Oh yes, I think I'm gonna use this entry for some advertisement of my site on MySpace: [link]

Okay, enough with the babbling. Thanks for reading anyway :)

Yes it does.
Especially since I finally have a cool 128M memory card for my camera. So I decided that I want do do more photography :)

I wanted to separate it from my normal account, so I created a new one. Feel free to check it out ;)

At the time there is not much to see, here are two excerpts:

More will follow. Thanks for the audience

... actually it's the only occasion when I come to working with traditional media (besides pencil and charcoal drawings), since the materials are all free there :)

I looked through pictures that have piled up for one year and a half and picked my three favourites to showcase them a bit ;)

And here they are, some of my few traditional works:

It looks like pieces from the mixed media category only show a poetry thumbnail... hm...

... whatever, enjoy :)

Do more drawings!

I will draw more!

All that mess with digital painting has robbed me all of my creativity the longest time. In the last months I tried then and again to paint digitally, because it's a style of art I am usually very impressed of. My art teacher always said that I'm an illustrator, rather than a painter... and she was right.
By drawing I can express all of my ideas, since drawing is something I do quite naturally, without caring for technique or something. When I tried to paint, so many ideas were lost, simply because I lacked technique or something, or because I gave up after working some 5-6h without feeling the slightest satisfaction about my work.

Things like this were always fun to me, paintings were work (no, not the slightest fun).

I feel good upon that realisation :)

Sincerely,

talanis

Everything is good!!!

Today, I've (hopefully) qualified for my final secondary-school examinations :)

My Facharbeit is done, a three minute animated film, drawn in black pastels.

I could hug the world  and everything is cool, and I even allowed myself to consume a bit more beer and absinth than I use to :D

Ah, you don't know how relieved I am now...

And I will probably upload my product anywhere and provide a link to it. The style is similar to the pastel drawings in my gallery.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Sincerely,

talanis
